Hi Ducpeeps....... As title implies all of a sudden my average consumption is stuck on 14.1mpg.....its been 54mpg average for last month or so, filled up two days ago done about 50 miles or so.the fuel bars have dropped more than they should have down to about half the segments gone whereas 50mikes or so would only lose a couple of segments. Assuming fuel sender indicator determines the average fuel consumption figure? So if this was faulty (replaced four weeks ago) lol would this result in new low average?
Might be an idea to check the connector, it seems too much of a coincidence that the unit was recently replaced
Just reset your fuel economy counter and it will be fine. Mine does this every so often too. for no reason it resets to 14.mpg. a feature of owning a dvt I guess.
I did a spirited drive across the highlands last year in my 911 with a passenger who'd just stepped out of his 6.3 C63 - he was astonished that my consumption display was showing double figures, let alone over 20 mpg
Ha ha, I get about 19-20 round town and if the motorway is really busy but flowing might make 24-25 if I'm lucky. That said its an absolute blast of a car so dont give a toss.
By the way, @Paul.Quinnq6 , fuel consumption means the amount of petrol actually consumed by the engine, i.e. the relationship between the amount you put in the tank and the number of miles it carries you. If your fuel consumption was 14 mpg, you would have a very serious problem indeed. Figures displayed on the dashboard, even if they go wrong, are a trivial matter by comparison.
I knew that...... Bike was running fine and dynamic consumption was as normal. Was wondering if fuel sender reader was faulty and indicating it had used more fuel was responsible for the average mpg figure...as it would affect the range. At no tome did I think it was actually getting g,14.1 mpg.
