I have an 2011 1100 EVO and I'm have a issue with a spongy rear brake? the first time was in the spring. I tried to bleed it out but it made no difference and got steadily worse To the point I took it in to the dealer to sort which they did. But now it has started to return in the same manor just getting slowly worse. I did do some googeling and it would seem to be not uncommon. With Ducati’s with ABS Further searching revealed that Ducati recommend dealers activate the “ABS at least 10 times” before returning a bike to the customer that has had work on the rear brake. I do use the bike all year round so it has done a fair few miles coming up to 10K Has anybody else had any probems?
I test my ABS every time I'm out, to make sure it's all working fine. I just do some hard braking on the rear. When the opportunity presents itself I also try to get the ABS to work on the front, by trying to get the front wheel to lock when running over lawn at slow speeds... Don't try this if you're not sure you can deal with the consequences... Cannot fault the brakes on my evo at all.
