Hello to all, I have just bought myself 2003 ducati 999S and I don,t know any previous service history of the bike, it has 10000 mies on the speedo, it was imported from italy, I ride it one time for one hour and it was working fine but today when I first started it was working but when I try to ride it it died and then it didn,t cranck any more plus yellow light for engine fault is on. Any idea what could be wrong, thanks for info
If EOBD is still on with ignition then retrieve the fault code. Ignition off, hold down left button on dash (do not release it). Ignition on, keep left button held down. Screen will display EFI, keep button held down. The fault codes will then be displayed in format xx.x make a note of fault codes and post here.
Could be as simple as the transponder antenna dropping down around the ignition shroud. Common on carbon ones. Next would be trying another key in case it is a transponder problem. Then replacing the injector/coil/pump relay as this can cause issues. If they all fail then buy a new immo antenna for about £27.
