  6. For those that helped I shall give you all a laugh. This was one of many a disaster during this trip. There were four crashes none me :)

    1) Lancaster services filled to the brim bp ultimate ...... diesel doh more haste less speed. lucky didn't start it or engage fuel pump so AA sorted.
    2) rear light failed and when its dark at 4pm that was a problem so found an asda and made two £3 led lights red with insulation tape and cable tied them on , brake light worked. ( See Image )
    3) The side stand ( this thread )
    4) Its running really really rich so only getting 100 to the tank unless i stay between 73 - 90 when fuelling seems right .
    5) had to go through a town revving it to keep it from dying . Ended up with flames coming out the exhaust so guy behind shouted i was on fire.

Made it home them no more drama . heres a few pics of the good bits

  12. 2011 is the year its done circa 46k miles hard to be exact as the dash failed at 30000 ish , its known as triggers broom( ) as so many bits have been replaced just added Ohlins ttx36 and front fork cartridges. I am sure a new read light and tail tidy will be next and a new exhaust to treat it for christmas.

Always nice to see a GS1200Adventurer off road , shame the rider was left lying on the road. You can see the ice , unfortunately he couldn't :) The bike went down the bank to where it landed knocking post over , rider fine , so its ok to take the piss , only damage was bmw logo on the tank fell off, but it had road tyres and the ground was boggy so getting it up from there took some effort but crashed very well but so so heavy.

This is a brand new enduro and it had two crashes and crashes well but faired worse than bmw with hand guard broken but it collected a perfect wedge of turf. 1st crash the guy didn't make the corner went up a bank to be fair sun was right in eyes , second crash he didn't make the corner and after some heroic off road wobbling finally crashed a 1m from tarmac . Me thinks he should concentrate more. Screen Shot 2016-11-29 at 19.35.25.png

  14. It's what they were built for - as everyone was safe I can say that looks like great fun. Touring stories are always better with a dash of disaster.

  15. Thousands and thousands of pounds and the only way you can get a ducati to work, is with a paper clip. Them old Italians at the factory must be the happiest company to work with the amount of laughing they do before they crate them up.

  16. Winter touring ......I'll pass but least he is using his very expensive bike not just for sunny Sundays

  17. If they are chinese copies, they will not seal correctly. I'd recommend RS components as I did the same but with my extra LED indicator modiules. Bought the very same kit & my electical friend found they would not seal correctly.
