Hey, does anyone know of alternate fog lights that still use original DVT wiring and handlebar switch?? I only ask as 300 quid seems bloody ridiculous for two little led's ?? Are they worth 300 quid ?? Any ideas appreciated. Cheers
Agreed that the The Ducati auxiliary LED lights are expensive however they do come with a small wiring loom which connects the light units to the main loom, as well as the mounting brackets. I think the lights have to be enabled by a dealer after installation. The additional wiring loom for my lights developed an intermittent fault which was shown as a error on the bike's display and both lamps were automatically switched off. This fault happened as I was on my way to local dealer, Ducati Aylesbury, and they diagnosed the problem and replaced the wiring loom under warranty within the hour on me explaining the fault to them when I arrived.
They are worth the mullah, match the LED colour of the main/dipped beams if you have the S version or enduro.
Just watched a youtube vid of the fogs, they look OK but I have the S and the low and high beam are epic, so not really convinced on the fogs I'm only trying to give our lass and my boy Christmas ideas as I can't think of anything I want ??
That reminds me, I put my name on a pair at my dealer, need to book bike in for fitting! I like the look and they're helishy bright
OE fog lights were great on the trip down to Rimini couple of years ago especially over the mountains between France and Italy, helped illuminate the bends brilliantly. Highly recommended imho
They're not fog lights................ they're Lights of Intimidation and they work very well :smirk:.
Don't get me wrong, I disagree with the cost of all the aftermarket kit especially the official Touratech kit but having gone over the mountains at night the OE fog lights were brilliant and lit the road up lovely. A cheaper set may have done the same but at the end of the day, you have a choice, buy em or buy a cheaper set, i don't usually buy the Touratech kit new, I watch the forums and the fleabays of the world.
Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere, had a look through the forum and not found the answer but being a newbie I'm still learning finding my way round. Has anyone fitted the Ducati fog lamps themselves ? The kit is pretty comprehensive but lacks a key ingredient....instructions ! Have the engine bars as well and they show the lamps etc but no wiring information, need to locate the plug into the wiring loom if at all possible. As always appreciate any advice
There is a link to a copy of the installation instructions for the Ducati LED auxiliary lamps in a post where I attempted to pull together all the documentation for accessories I've got installed.
Many thanks, just what I was looking for, knew the info would be in here somewhere, much appreciated. I don't have an issue at all with getting the local dealer to do it, Moto Rapido in my case, but planned to do this over the winter as my working in the garage project. Many thanks again for comments
MotoRapido my local dealer also, in fact it was Craig in parts, who told me 1 hour only yesterday, as Santa is bringing me some fog lights Sadly, I don't have time as a winter in the garage idea, as I shall be on it all winter, hence needing the fogs
So you caved in then Wayne? Trust me they are brilliant things. Combined with the S Led lights they are like sunlight of the gods, as you approach lines of cars will part before you like the Red Sea in front of Moses. They are like a pair of angels illuminating your way.... Current Southern rail train strike means I'm out on the bike this week in the gloom and dark.
It was only yesterday the I picked up my parts from Craig, we must have just missed each other, engine bars, his'n'hers touratech seats and the foglights. Also have the topbox carrier assembly on route so should keep me busy enough through the cold of the New Year
Ahh, what time, cause when I rang Craig, he said he had one pair on the shelf ? I'm guessing he ain't now eh
