Hi peeps...... Wonder if any of yous can shed a light as to why my cruise control won't come on or work anymore... When I press the button..... Nothing!! tried braking to activate it and tried it above 31 mph... There is a warning triangle bottom left of dash??? "but can't make out or determine what this is a warning for??" any advice be much appreciated
Get down your local dealer & ask them to see what the fault is (triangle error) & mention bizarrely that the cruise is not activating.
That triangle is telling you there is an issue. I had one which was the rear brake sensor. So dealer visit needed
Any sensor related to cutting out the CC, such as clutch switch, brakes or quick-shifter (if you have one fitted, I know the MTS doesn't) will cancel CC from operating. All these need to be working otherwise CC would remain engaged despite pulling on brakes or changing gear. You'd have to press the button again which isn't exactly the safest option. My MV Turismo has been lacking cruise control since June as the quick-shifter sensor stopped working (still waiting for parts, dealer now gone bust so start that again... another story). Though in my case deactivating the QS via the dash at least gets CC working again.
Hi folks does this help? I will arrange trip to dealer just wondered if anyone had an idea of the fault warning?? "cheers all will post back when I find out Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
The heated grips and the cruise control both use the starter button. I wonder if that is causing the issue.
Starter button? Isn't that the setup for heated grips on previous pre dvt models? Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Hi Bumkin - A bit off topic but interested in the MV story, I'd heard they'd gone into liquidation (MV) is the dealers demise a direct result?
MV isn't quite in liquidation, operating under a concordato in continuita, sort of the inequivalent of US chapter 11 insolvency. Holding the creditors at bay whilst continuing in business, have been since April. They've recently struck a deal with Black Ocean to re-finance. However, they're in a heap of debt left right and centre (suppliers, tax man etc.) and are still, for the time being shackled to AMG who are the last lot to give them serious amounts of money. Black Ocean, from what I can gather, is Brit/Russian partnership between Oliver Ripley and Timur Sardarov. We'll see what happens over the coming months. As to my dealer, Ed Cosker Superbikes, their demise was mainly down to his major commitment of being an MV dealer then pretty well having the rug pulled from under them earlier this year. Production and supply of bikes went to zero for several months as did parts. They even collected bikes still owned by MV from his and many showrooms around Europe and sold them to the Auz importer who pays up front which made it even worse, leaving very little stock. For the past few months, and into the foreseeable future, dealers need to pay for bikes on delivery. Moot point as there are very few to be had, production is at something of a crawl.
