I am looking for a tool to help when i tighten the front axle nut on 2011 multistrada ( not S ) so not ohlins . Seen these Ducati Special Tools but not sure whether i need 28mm or 30mm from a ruler and old eyes thinking 30mm but as given to stupidity would appreciate if someone knows and can recommend a good tool to hold the other side while i tighten the axle lock nutt? Many thanks Chris
I've never used these tools. I tighten the pinch bolts on the opposite side, torque the axle nut (30mm), then loosen the pinch bolts again and bounce the forks a few times to let everything line up before finally tightening the pinch bolts on both sides. If you have Öhlins forks be very wary not to over tighten the pinch bolts.
Don't waste your money, do it as Derek has said. If you have a fork adjustment screw that is accessed from the bottom of the fork then you need to align the hole in the axle. If you haven't or don't intend to do any adjustment, alignment is uneccessary. Andy
That is ingenious Thank you very much , very wary of over tightening as seen the effects so always use a good torque wrench. Derek that was brilliant used the method and it worked perfectly thank you for the tip brilliant!
