Not dumb at all.. from memory there are two stations you could use. Neither are that close to the circuit hence the transfer bus and taxi for practice/quali days. We used the Borgo San Lorenzo station and was painless. The taxi was €10 per person but negotiated €5 euros by sharing with some Swiss guys.
