Hi guys, I'm at a loss! I have a 1098 Streetfighter S with very dull LCD dash. The lights along the top light up fine. The fault has been located with the dash and it is not repairable. My question is, can I just buy a dash and plug and play? My bike runs the performance chip which I heard might make a difference to the key recognition. I have been offered a second hand dash but unsure if it will work. I might be able to get the keys and the key identifier thing if that helps?! Any advice welcome! Many thanks Ed
You can't plug and play I'm afraid. The dash has to be paired with your bike's masterkey to get the immobiliser to work and that requires plugging the bike into Ducati software at a main dealer. You can fit a secondhand dash but you'll get the the donor bike's mileage on it. You can't reset them or transfer the mileage from yours. If you buy a new dash the mileage goes back to zero. It takes half an hour to an hour at dealer to fit and configure. They will also be able to detect any faults in the repkacement dash as well so take it to a dealer. New dashes from Ducati are £660 plus fitting.
