1200 Panniers On A 1200?

Just wondering if anyone has fitted panniers on a 1200S? I'm looking at the possibility of fitting something like this, albeit larger, to my bike:

But adapting it to look more like the Ducati semi-rigid pannier frame:

Ducati Semi-Rigid Side Bag Mount Subframe for Monster 821/1200

Would be interested to see any pics or hear of experiences with luggage on a Monster.
