1200 Oil Service Light On

Back to the dealer. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do apart from not take it in until the light is already on.

That sux. Even cars let us reset the oil change reminder. My BMW is the same as duc in that regard.

 

I thought you can reset the oil service light and desmo service light on the earlier 1200 Multi's? There's a thread somewhere saying how to do it with a free Android app and a bluetooth cable costing a few quid, I was hoping to go that route when the bikes next serviced by an independent in a couple of weeks.

 

If the dealer did the service, I'd be asking them to finish the job and reset the service warning free of charge.

My last oil service was done by an independant who couldn't reset the service light as his software wouldn't play on his diagnostics

i then had some work done at my main dealer and as they know the independant agreed to reset the light but when they plugged it in just before they shut it was showing the bike had done 7000 miles so was prior to service so wouldn't reset ....its done 23,000 miles

They will plug it in again and sort it when they have time to play with it a bit more

 

Don't fall for the App, I bought the cable and wireless bit to plug into it only to fine I couldn't get the app, the guy doesn't respond to joining his "beta" test group or have it for sale in the app store.

 

I'd try him again - I put in the request from google groups and he accepted it within a day or two. I've installed the app earlier this week and bought the cable, not tried it yet as have 100 miles to go before the oil service light will come on.

 

Do you have a link for the Google group please, I've deleted my old account when it got hacked. So will need to set up another one.
