Hi everyone, quick post to see if I can get a few of you to have a little delve into your wallets/purses I attended a Charity rideout event last Sunday to visit a terminally ill young lad: "Martha Care - Dimitri's Ride" For anyone interested and/or that would like to donate you can find out more on what Martha Care does here: Martha Care - Glastonbury, United Kingdom - Community | Facebook The charity Martha Care was started after my friend Maggie's daughter (Martha;-) died due to a cancerous tumour of the brain in 2006. Head straight here to donate: Martha Care A bit more on Sunday's event, visiting Dimitri and some of his friends (fellow cancer patients), their family, medical staff and carers: https://www.facebook.com/events/301267946649825/?fref=ts Photos (still more to come) And finally I've put together a collection of photos from the day here: Martha Care Charity - "Dimitiri's Ride" 25Nov2012 - AndyW-inuk's Photos ....the photos can be viewed as a slideshow by following this link: Photo Sharing. Nudge! Dimitri is just 5 years old and terminally ill (not expected to live more than a few weeks more) - Dimitri's brain tumour is so far advanced now that he is almost totally paralysed, unable to even speak......he can only communicate by responding to questions with blinks of his eye lids. Whilst you can't see the joy in his face he stayed with us much longer than expected repeatedly confirming he didn't want to leave. Our visit came about as Dimitri loves motorcycles (yellow ones in particular), after his Mum came across a photo of Maggie's yellow bike on the Martha Care website and contacted Maggie........the highlight of his day was sitting on the AA bike with the engine running and emergency lights flashing.....his mother had to hold back the tears! I don't know the history/prognosis of the other two children but they're also cancer sufferers...... ......Martha Care aims to make a difference for children like these and their parents.....please dig deep folks  Martha Care ....all the children loved meeting Molly the biker dog.
