Hi guys, I changed my chain and sprokets last night, while I had everything off I decided to give everything a good clean, in doing so I found the seal that seals my rear axel bearing behind the sproket hub and washer was not fitted corectly i.e it was sticking out halfway round and consiquently the washer that sits on it had worn through the metal suport ring inside the seal. I've looked every where for the size or patr number so I can order a new one, but even my drawing dosent show it, see pic. Have any of you got a more consise drawing with it on? or may be know where I can get one from? I've straghtend it and refitted it for now but it will need replacing asap. I have photo shopped the seal to show where it goes. Thanks
On the spare parts colleague for the DVT models the Hub (item 13) is shown as coming with a Dust Cover (item 26). The part number for the Hub appears to be the same [75620131A) on all the 1200 models I looked at (obviously not the Enduro). The part number for the seal is 93010102A. Might be worth checking with a dealer as the same hub part is used on loads of different models with single sided swing arms, but the only parts diagram if seen where the Dust Cover is broken out as a separate item is on the Multistrada 1200 DVT models.
same problem on mine !!! 2014 year.never fitted right from new in my opinion.city seals and bearings sheffield sourced me 1 that was the same internal /external dimensions just 3mm deeper but the hub allowed that to fit snug.
I don't suppose you can remember the sizes off hand can you? I work with bearings and seals all the time so probs be able to get one free of charge if you know what I mean ;-) Ducati said they can get me one but want me to pay for it before they order it, but I cant be arsed doing the 230 mile round trip twice just because they don't trust me for the £10 part. It will cost more in fuel and tyre wear than the part will cost.
I realise it's not a Ducati but I replaced the bearings and seals in my F4. (MV's service schedule says replace Hub at something like 20,000miles) if you can see the bearing numbers take that to a bearing supplier I am sure they will supply a seal to suit or just take the seal
Yeah was being lazy it's all back together now and couldn't be bothered stripping it down to find the size. Not to worry when I will pop into J&L's on my way to the NW200 and hopefully they will have it in one my way home from the NW200.
