FEMA facebook page announces recall on 1200 and 950 for possible fire risk and fork tube deformation !!!!! I can't do the link thing so hopefully someone else can. Andy
Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations - Home | Facebook Motorcycle recalls – FEMA 2017 Week 14 – Ducati – Multistrada 1200, Multistrada 950. The vehicles in question were manufactured between 2016 and 2017. A potential defect in the fuel tank could lead to fuel leakage at the fuel level sensor retaining ring nut, with a risk of fire if the leaking fuel comes into contact with a hot surface. This is old news though, isn't it? I know when I took mine back for a tank swap a month ago they had already recalled some and stopped production on new ones.
Only a few 2016 models affected and owners should have had a mail or letter from Ducati, check your frame number with your dealer, there is a throttle recall and a mod on paniers if fitted
Yep - checked with my dealership today - Riders in Bristol - the Multi is now booked in for both of those issues but not affected by the tank issue. The suggestion seemed to be that it may not be affected by those issues either - apparently there are a small number of bikes with specific parts that are affected. Its in the range of affected bikes to they want it in to check if it has either of the parts involved and will replace the parts if it has.
Sent an e-mail to my Dealer ( Leeds ) ohh and yes my Multi requires 2 of the notices to be addressed....why oh why does it always take a customer contacting their dealer to be told there are potential issues!...makes my blood boil!...apparently my dealer said Ducati are rectifying them in batches!!!!!
Italia Moto replied saying my bike was not affected by that recall, for info my pikes peak DVT was registered in March 2016.
