I genuinely didn't like the dvt as much as a 2012 ohlins shod 1200 multi. I'm pretty tall so maybe that didn't help as the dvt you seem to be sunk further in, the older generation 1200's seemed a bit ride on top and felt like they could be hooned around better. Perhaps that's just what I liked about the older version, it felt a bit more aggressive and racey. Guess it depends what you want
No it won't, as the DVT will have chugged away long before you find the right gear to accelerate on a non DVT.
I own a 2017 DVT but prefer my twin spark the only issue I have with the TS is the seat height on the DVT i have the low seat on the lowest position far more manageable
Has any one actually tried the to from a standing start? Would be interesting to see up to say 170mph
I've owned both and the bikes are equally good. Both have sh*t loads of power, just slightly different delivery. I would strongly suggest the S option on either, LED lights and skyhook make it easy and practical. If I had to choose I would take the DVT, the low speed performance round town for me is the plus point.
Its each to their own i guess. The DVT is much easier to ride fast IMHO and i don't believe that when they are set up correctly that the DVT will be slower to accelerate than the earlier bikes. The early DVT bikes were a backward step when i first tried one but Ducati have improved the fuelling so much since that i suspect its noticeably quicker now. That's my findings anyway.
I have ridden mine with TS and SS and can say 100% it's no slower from a standing start to whatever speed we got up to. Although I'd pay to see someon get to 170 @jcmental lol
When buying a 2nd/3rd hand should i worried about the mileage, you see many with 13,15,18,20+ k on the clocks if they have f.s.h or full dealers history... I have ppl who have, had bikes or the garage i use trying to stir me away from ducati's cause of the amount ive spent in the past just keeping my on the road... Superduke GT; a plus side this doesnt have belts, looks ok, needs vinyl wrapping or paint another colour... Atm it's out of my price range... BMW1000XR; Looks like a multi but cost more than multi second hand... Triumph Explorer/XC; I like the look but does it have peformance and riding mode....not yet... Aprilia Tuono; It may have the peformance, but it one damn ugly F@%$ing bike...
I'm wondering if anyone making comparisons between the TS and the DVT has ridden a DVT with the Feb 2017 ECU updates? If the comparison was made with a DVT back in Jan 2016 then I can understand it, as I have to admit that I felt my DVT was a little asthmatic back then, but the recent ECU updates make it an entirely different proposition. Bottom end grunt is impressive. If I'm riding in town in urban mode the traction control light is frequently lit up, whereas it didn't have the bottom end to trouble the traction control previously.
The only time my TC flashes is when I'm powering off roundabouts other than that the front wheel comes up rather than spins the back. What tyres you got on?
Yes, I rode a 2017 last weekend - it is vastly improved compared to the 15/16 bikes (as previously noted). I'm withholding judgement until I get to ride the same machine again on Highland roads next week. On that first ride, I did still prefer my original with Ohlins SCU & 42T sprocket.
