  1. And if you fancy a bit of light off roading get yourself on the Route de petit Saint Bernard not far from Bourge Saint Maurice (This is a great base for a trip as every route out of Bourg is a fab ride), just down from the statue at the top you will spot a gravel road heading off across the other side of the valley, there is a water crossing (and bridge for chickens!) . About 15 - 20 miles long can not remember where it comes out but it's near Bourg.https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Bo...int-Maurice,+Savoie,+Rhone-Alpes,+France&z=16

  2. And if you want hairpin bends with very little traffic head up to Les Arcs, in the summer these roads are little used as they only go to the resort which are purpose built ski areas not towns. We got loads of action photos just down from Arc 2000, rode the same few bends about a dozen times each time everyone was trying to scrape their pegs for the best shot! Amazed no one binned it.

  3. Thanks Richard, great help, heading there in October and always good to get some new routes and areas to visit, cheers.

  4. Alps 2012 Part 4 - YouTube

Well for anyone who is not already bored stiff with parts 1,2 and 3 now uploaded 4, this time the ride up to the Col de l'Iseran one of the highest paved roads in Europe. Wind noise on the clip is bad, editing rubbish but arr well.

  6. Alps 2012 part 5 - YouTube

Final part 5 vid of the trip, finishes with a bit of light off road gravel track. The GS owners loved it the 2 guys on road bikes not so!

Had a great time on this trip having never even driven in Europe before. I used a guy called Bill Roughton of Biketours-uk Bike Tours UK :: Motorcycle touring in UK, England and Thailand
He booked everything and led the group. He runs his trips more like a group of mates going away rarther than an organised tour, speaks fluent French and knows the area like the back of his hand..... Recommended:upyeah:

Thought we rode quick at times in the Alps but nothing compared to these French lads. Don't know them but quite like their vid. (It may not play on an I pad or phone due to the Metalica soundtrack)

  8. With a bit more time on my hands I have condensed one of my Alps rides into a 4 min vid. All filmed from the back of my Multistrada which was mega fun on those Alpine roads.
