Hi, ive recently inhereted a p reg ducati 748 biposto off my dad, it needs abit of work done to it so would like some advice on best place to get stuff from. First of all wheres the best place for a fairing kit? The current one that is fitted is cracked and marked all over (non genuine) What size sprockets and chain do i need and where to get them from? And wheres the best place to get timing tools from as the belts are due for changing? Also need the paint code for the original colour on the wheels? Any help appreciated, it needs a few other bits but i think im sorted with them. Thanks. Tom
You don't need timing equipment to change the belts, just don't mess about with the pulleys when you remove the old ones. You may need a tension gauge depending on the tension 'method' you choose (gauge, sound, twist, etc). If you aren't too concerned about originality then getting some fairings from China on Ebay seems the cheapest option. Some seem to get good reviews, others not so. Search here as I seem to remember this being discussed quite recently? Re: sprockets, I think people tend to like the 14/40 or 14/41 setup on the 748 for the road, I believe the standard setup is 14/38. Others will probably add more/disagree on this. Standard chain should be a 520/94.
