Ducati Monster M600 And M620 Rear Shock Absorbers

Discussion in 'Monster' started by hilmana, May 23, 2017.

  1. Hi.

I'm new here and to the motorcycle scene :)

I'm about to pick up my 1st bike. a 2001 Ducati Monster M600 which is a little bit rough round the edges and has a busted rear shock.

I'm searching E-bay for a good condition used replacement shock (to keep costs down) but i cant find anything suitable for the 600. But there are more and cheaper options for a M620 shock.

My question is, are the Monster M600 and Monster M620 rear shocks the same and can i use a 620 shock instead of a 600?

    Thanks.

  2. I've a feeling they're different - the 600 had the hoop arrangement for the rear shock, whereas the 620 has a single pushrod. That said, the shock itself could be the same.

A quick look at Hagon shocks reveals different parts, so chances are they're not the same.

Might be worth seeing if there is a suspension specialist near to you that could be able to refurbish your shock for you.

  4. Thank you very much for the quick replies :)

  5. For a 600 you can use the ST range, which means remote preload adjustment and more stock adjustment than the monster one. Not sure if an 851 etc fit, think it does tho
