1200 Engine Error Message And Light

  1. Out for a ride on my 2013 twin spark and, on starting, engine error signalled. Oil, water temperature all fine and exhaust valve open. Decided to take it for a ride and the engine did not falter and good for anything I demanded- but error message and light remains!

Trying to get an idea of what may be the problem it seems that inlet sensors most likely.

Planned weeks holiday on the bike next Saturday but local Ducati dealer will take the bike on Monday and try to do what they can for me despite their workshop pressures.

Just wonder if anyone has thoughts and experience!

  2. What is the he error message?
If it's a code, just google error codes and your bike model and that should tell you where the problem is.

  3. When I had an error I couldn't find a way to get a code.

It's probably a senseoe. Mine did the same when the rear and sensor failed.

  4. With my 999, you hold down the left button and then turn on the ignition, this then gives an error code on the display, if you have the engine light on. Different bike of course but I suspect you do something similar.
The code on mine was for a short at the front coil but it was the ecu at fault. It did provide clues though about what to look for.

  5. 848 was the the same as have been most of my bikes. Multi doesn't seem to be. Even google and asking on here failed

  6. Gosh... :(

  7. Shock!

  8. Turned out to be an air pressure sensor to one cylinder. Replaced today and pressures both cylinders the same on the laptop diagnostics and engine running fine. Still has error message and dealer has had difficulty in removing this (has been Rexxer tuned) so it will be back to sort ( the error message) after my trip to France.
