  1. http://www.vizi-tec.com/duc-ee/

Has anyone fitted one of these whilst keeping the standard exhaust system.

I just want to stop the butterfly valve operating but don't want to hack it out.

I have emailed the US supplier and they do ship to the UK for about $15.

  2. Yes. I have fitted these to each of my three Multistradas in turn. For the new 2017 bike I had the DucEE fitted at the outset on the basis that the exhaust flapper valve is sure to seize sooner or later so I can save trouble later by pre-empting the problem.

Snells have fitted so many of these to so many bikes that it is virtually a routine job. I imagine other dealers would say the same.

  3. That's the Duc EE which has been around for several years. Some like it, some don't and there appears to be no middle ground. Surprised there isn't a UK based stockist. Andy

  4. I installed the Duc ee and my bike developed a highly variable idle. 1000 to 1800 rpm when fully warm. Dealer unhooked it and reset everything in ecu. Idles ok now.

  5. Duc EE sorted the problem on my 2015DVT - no issues since fitted.

  6. Former Duc-EE user here. No issues at all with the unit

  7. Fitted one on my late 2015 Dvt, along with arrow decat - no issues at all so far.

  8. Just remove the cable, put a spring on the end to allow it to go thru its starting process, and job done. For free if you have a spring around :)

  9. After the valve seized and was replaced under warranty I decided to fit one of these (mechanic also recommended it). No issues, slightly better pick up between 3-4K revs and a bit of popping and banging on the overrun. No change to MPG.

  10. I had a piece of square bar which I fitted to my servo after removing the cables does the same as a spring free apart from the time

  11. Sorry I don't understand this. Where does the "piece of square bar" go? What size is it? What does it do? How can it do "the same as a spring"?

  12. i have a 1098 so my servo is hidden behind a fairing
if i am teaching you to suck eggs i apologise but when you turn thd ignition on the servo moves the valve from fully ope to fully closed. if the valve siezes the servo cant do this and the light illuminates and shows a fault. if a cable snsps the servo can spin freely and again shows a fault
so i removed the cables and then the white plastic holder from the servo spindle.
i have then fitted a piece of bar on the spindle.
when the servo does its pre start check the bar stops the servo spinning and fools the ecu into thinking the cables are still there

  13. Just removed the butterfly flapper, easy peasy

  14. Phoned up snells they had one on the shelf for my bike rode over was fitted in about 5 mins so no labour to pay total bill was £49.99

the flat spot at 3k rpm seems improved

  15. so after about another 150 ish miles the response is much improved well worth it as a £50 dealer fitted warranty friendly mod
