Another option is a Talon sprocket carrier. I use them on all my bikes and got a number of spare sprockets from eBay for quite decent money at times. I find them neater as they don't use nuts but allen screws to secure the the sprocket. http://finder.talon-eng.co.uk/produ...sprockets&bikes_subcategory=sprocket-carriers
Why is the excentric in the wrong position? Tensioning the chain in time is causing the change in position depending from the lenght of the chain, isn't it? Or am I missing someting?
15/36 IIRC. I went for 15/38 and 2 extra links in the chain just to help with riding round town or in traffic.
I use 15/37 on my 998 and no chain lengthening required. Good enough round town for me and no wheelie problems most of the time!
I would say uneven/uneven is better for not getting a 'repeat' tooth wear pattern. I use 15/39 on the 916 but 998 has a closer ratio gearbox and different final drive ratio. I've heard people recommend 15/38 as the optimum? but you would probably need a longer chain than a 15/36.
Just come back from a 150 mile blast to find metal shavings on rear wheel. Took it apart to find the same issue. Fairly worn but I can still get adjuster spanner on.
Should be a recall on this imh, Safety issue? Or does Ducati say the cush drives should be changed regularly?
Ahh ok makes sense, Take it recalls only come in for a certain amount of years?, Just had a recall done on my 10 plate Kuga, Thats why I brung it up. Cheers
And the rest, however there never was a recall even back when they were new and popping cush drives...
Being a safety issue it's unbelievable this wasn't solved with a recall at the time. But we all know that you buy a Ducati with your heart, so we cover this problem with a(nother) blanket of love
