It's a Ducati 999 Biposto but has been modified to a 999R replica a lot money has been put into it by previous owner, it has only covered 80 miles in the last 3 years so a new MOT was done today and brand new Belts and service being done tomorrow ready for a Ride out Sunday cannot wait.

  2. Hi and welcome.
What's been done to the bike? Looks like Marchesini forged wheels and 848/1098 forks with radial calipers.

  3. Hi Ricky, yes your correct it has Marchesini Forged Wheels
1098 Forks that have been anodised black
    Full Termignoni exhaust system
Ducati Carbon Fibre Engine and Primary covers
    Carbon Fairings
    Magneti Marelli Dials
Plus much more I'm still finding more stuff as I look more around it, the engine has had a lot of work done to it I'm still going through the receipts to find out exactly what's been done

  10. Hi all bit of an update
Yesterday I Dropped the bike off for its Belt Change and a service, I took it to Andy Gregson at Cocoa Cafe Classics in Northampton cant recommend him enough Knows his Stuff and a really Nice bloke. Once he changed Belts and serviced it he gave it a look over, he noticed the Side stand bolts was loose and the speedo senor had rubbed against the disc and worn through! He had a ride and Noted how shocked he was at how well it pulled.
So Today was my first Ride on the bike I must say I Love it, after owning many jap bikes (R1 before the Ducati, CBR600RR track Bike) I love the power delivery and how easy it turns into corners with next to no effort, the noise is a massive added bonus as well! Even with a few Mishaps Today I'm Smitten with the bike and will probably look to get a Similar bike for track days, so The First mishap occurred after feeling like a Kid at Christmas (sorry to those who frown upon such behaviour) but after a rather lengthy wheelie (1st to 3rd gear) when the front eventually came back down i had a rather large piece of plastic go Flying through the air! (Yes I looked the twat after) the front Mudguard snapped and flew off 62DF03F3-A6AC-4809-967F-608DBF43739B.JPG

The reason being is someone has dropped both Front and back suspension to lower the bike, they've dropped the front quite a lot so only assume the the front bottomed out as the front wheel come down and with it being so low has hit the mudguard and crushed it

So a new Mudguard has been ordered while eating Breakfast at the Super Sausage Cafe. On the way home I was being Flashed by a car behind me (took a while to see him as the mirrors are horrific) first thoughts was it was the police but fortunately is was a kind motorist letting me know my number plate had come loose. Plastic number plate bolts have seen better days so stopped in petrol station and got some new ones problem solved.
Overall I'm really impressed with the bike it pulls like a train and the low down grunt is awesome, I'm having to adjust my riding style a bit to suit the bike but I'm more than happy to do it as I'm loving the way the bike runs and rides.

I've had a few people ask me today about the gold Head on the bike, I know they are from the 999R model but can anyone tell me what difference there is between a standard head and the gold head? Maybe a silly question but the Ducati world is all new to regarding parts/mechanics of the bike.

  12. Is the front brake reservoir leaking a bit. Not OEM.

  13. Welcome - cam covers are magnesium on the later 999R's - but it looks like yours have been painted gold perhaps to replicate, side plates have been painted too.

  14. Looks like you also have a switch to turn the lights off on RH bar, which is unusual.

Gold heads - it could be just the cam covers off a 749/999R. These are magnesium and finished in that colour.
Or, you could have heads of either of those but you would need to strip it to find that out.

  15. My lights are on the right control
