  3. Tonight is party night (odd I know, but it's the pub landlord's birthday), so free booze all night:biggrin:

Naturally I've booked tomorrow off, so I'll be visiting a new acquaintance with a barn full of weird and wonderful bikes. He wants me to take on the restoration of an old Francis Barnet, so I'll take a look at that, but he's also got a Servicar, a motorcycle hearse and a Reliant trike that uses a boat hull as part of the bodywork...

  4. Which FB? I'm very familar with the Cruiser 80......bl**dy old AMC thing......

Same frame as the Norton Navigator......another bl**dy old AMC thing......only coupled with major oil leaks....

    AL.

  5. Dunno, that's why I want to take a look at it before I say yes. I've not taken on a full restoration before so I wanna see what state it's in. The idea is I restore to a clean sell-able condition and sell it, and we fight over the profit, but I happen to know he's got a tatty low-mileage VFR750, so I'm angling for that as payment...

  6. It's quite hard to find parts for the 250cc Cruiser 80 AMC engine........not like the pre-AMC Villiers engine at all which was basically the same as James, Greeves etc etc.

Here's one that was messed around a bit.....

    AL

  7. slightly concerned

one of my sons just defrosted my freezer and the other is hoovering his room

I hope they dont have something to tell me

  8. Cleaning and domesticity..?

    They're gay, mark my words...

  9. Today has been a day of pain! 2 1/2 hours in the tattoo studio followed by a visit to the dentist! Now need that lottery win so much more!!!!!!

  10. I took the day off yesterday cos I've got man flu. And I spent a huge chunk of the day asleep.

And I'm going to take today off too but prolly get one of the guys in the office to bring my laptop to the house so I can do a bit of work when I manage to stay awake.

  11. Talk about a bloody grindstone - having to work when you feel utter crap.

    And all for what, eh?
When all's said and done, no one is interested in your sacrifice.

Tell 'em to keep their laptop - it's not as if you don't put in the hours.
As for man flu - it's a cold, and colds make you feel like shit. No reason to feel guilty about it.

  12. Oof, my head hurts:frown:

Bit like a cold, but self-inflicted...

  13. Just a common or garden SMIDSY. He pulled out so late I never even got a chance to close the throttle. Was doing about 50mph upon impact. It could have been a LOT worse. If is have hit the b pillar it could have been a very different outcome.

  14. I know how that feels. A guy pulled across the road in front of me years back; I looked the guy straight in the eye and he looked straight back at me, but then suddenly decided he could make the gap - he couldn't. I broke both ankles and all my ribs, couldn't walk straight for two years and had a walking stick for 3 years.

  15. Got a 2yr service with belts, renthal chain and sprocket with quick release carrier fitted. And saw a 1098R and fell in love!
