1200 DVT Cjs Racing/tunning

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by knightrider, Jul 16, 2017.

  1. Just back after a trip round Europe for 7 days taking in some spectacular scenery and awesome roads. I enjoyed the DVT (touring S Mivv end can and decat) but really feel it lacks some grunt compared to my 2010 (full termi & race ECU) and when on tick over the revs constantly surge up and down and also found it was quite hesitant when want to give it a hand full ..... so.... and yes I have searched but can CJS remap the DVT and what is it surging ????

  2. Don't think he can do a DVT yet. Don't think anyone can.

Not sure why it's surging tho. Have you had the upmap? Maybe you can get a friendly dealer or someone to flash that :)

  3. Ps is it just hunting at bit at Rickover? Mine does that, don't see how it's a problem worth spending time on tbh :)

Pps is that in high throttle-power mode? On mid (touring default) there is a lag. I get the impression it's planned. In sport (default) it's more snatchy because it's more instant.

    On mine, obviously :upyeah:

  4. Yes just on tickover I generally run in sport mode default
Will ask if local dealer has up map and try that

  5. I love the idea of a Rickover....

  6. I love the fact that auto changer capitalised it because it's a name. I #robotsarecoming

  7. Is that the same as tunning?

  8. Called into Ducati Peterborough while out on my deliveries, I was told by them that you cant buy the key to unlock the up map that is already in the ECU, dont know if that is correct. They also said that a way around it would be to fit a power commander and then get it dyno'd, they gave me number of someone they recommended and I gave them a call. They came back with PC and tune of £560

I then asked a mate of mine who gets his bikes tuned all the time at a place called hilltop motorcycles, so gave them a ring and they told me they can re-map it,cost £360 and if i wasn't 100% happy they'd give me money back, I do like it when someone is so confident in what they do :upyeah::)

I did try getting in touch with CJS all last week but he never answered, either away or busy but no option to leave a message so bikes going to hilltop next week

    I'll update with results

  11. And they know it's the DVT? Have they any experience of a DVT and before/after dyno?

  14. Hilltop are mentioned a lot on the GS:er forum, which on the whole isn't my favourite. Plenty of opinion (from the scathing to the wildly supportive) on there, seems to be the place for BMW for sure but I don't know their expertise on Ducati. If you want to read more about customer experience of them then have a look on there too.

  15. I did tell them its a DVT and apparently the ECU is hard to crack, they said they have done lots..... I'll just have to wait and see ;)

  16. Im NOW slightly sceptical after some of the comments, it sounds like others have had dealings or read about Hilltop. I know 2 of mates have used them and been more than happy with the outcome.
I just think after fitting a full system and not getting the bike tuned afterwards it will not be running as good as it should/could be

  17. @knightrider, have you asked your dealer about the fairly recent DVT software upgrade offered by Ducati ? FWIW, I remember a conversation where it was muted that you can kiss goodbye to any potential Ducati goodwill if you get it independently tuned and have issues down the line. Any warranty left on the bike will most definitely be void. Andy

  18. Just got back from Louigi (took my mate to pick up his scramber/cafe racer) he's well chuffed....but, yes, text him....he doesnt normally answer the phone...

  19. have done and hes replied mate thanks

  20. Good point Andy :upyeah:
Think i'm going to cancel and contact ducati and wait to see what CJS comes up with
