Not changed any plug connectors since crash or anything around that area only the clock. The wiring diagram has 2 gnd wires out of the clock i presume that means ground or earth. Maybe those aren't seated properly
Getting there, again speaking from experience and knowledge of the 899 they do not have a tilt switch so when they go down unless the engine stalls they will keep running. Hence whenever I crash, if I can get up, I get straight over to it and kill it if it's still running. Not good for big end otherwise. The only time I have had an issue with the throttle was when I tried to take the play out of it by rotating the cam slightly on the throttle. That resulted in it running at full revs when I turned it on, I put it back as it was and no issue apart from the slack. Check the throttle hasn't been damaged internally at the bar as that might be causing it to run at high revs. Fairly easy to strip it and have a look.
Ar I removed the throttle as the clip on was snapped. I put it back together but presumed it would only go back together one way?
No mate, the rotator with the little lug will go in two ways. You'll know it's right if there's a load of slack in the throttle. If the throttle is tight on the bar then the lug is in the wrong place. Hopefully problem solved once you move it. I'll keep an eye to the thread and if you need anything else shout up.
