Advice On Insurance For Appreciating Classic

  1. Hi
    Can you advise me please..

Who do you go to if your bike is a modern classic like a 916sps or R perhaps and you want insurance that you know will pay out on a bike if the worst comes to worst and give you its current full value e.g. These bikes are rising in value, I've had so many policy's that paid out pathetic sums even if the accident was not my fault.. I had a mint ford escort sport written off when a plum piled into it, they didn't care that it was mint they just paid market value which was peanuts..

    Your help appreciated thanks

  2. My friend insures all my bikes with agreed values. They specialise in classic insurance.

For my RD350LC I had to provide pictures from the front / rear / LHS & RHS clearly showing the number plate. When the underwriters were happy, I got a certificate with the agreed value on it.

  3. You can easily get caught out, I upped my S1 Exige this year to £30K and the only 3 world wide this week all with similar mileage are between £50-60K! Only found out when the race shop that services it mentioned the values shooting up when I picked it up on Friday. So I need to be extra careful until next year now o_O

  6. Crikey... Robarano is an important guy then.. to be able not only to call on Teresa May but to send her to see ironron without delay is very impressive!

  9. I have had agreed value insurance on classic cars and bikes from both Carole Nash and Adrian Flux take plenty of photos a valuation letter from the owners club or the VJMC if it's Japanese
Currently have agreed values on my Panther, A7 , 916 & Suzuki t500

  10. Mine are all with Carole Nash on an agreed value 'custom' policy. I needed to send pics from all angles, a list of modifications and a justification of the value requested. One they 'haggled' a little over the value, the other two they accepted my valuation.

It's not cheap (and has gone up significantly in the last couple of years) but if all the bikes were stolen I'd get a decent sum so maybe value for money?...
