Starting problem. 3 pin. sen813. resistance 684 ohms. supply voltage 2V. I was expecting to see 5V, as measured for the other sensors. Anyone know what supply voltage should be please? If it should be 5V, suggestions as to where the fault lies? Thanks, David
I picked this up from the Electrex website - I don't know if it is any help or not. It is for Ducati twins, two wire. The original is 100ohms, the resistance of the P8 unit is 460ohms But the best cure is use another bike, like a 750 Supersport in red, black and white
Quite right AL. Your bike is a treat. as i've said before, suspension beautifully set up. bike kept clean and polished and maintained. ridden on sunny mornings - before the traffic appears. sadly since the spring, we haven't really had a summer. well we have ... after a fashion. all seasons in one day. they say that the sun shines in maryport at least once every day. maybe only when watching it set across the Solway, though. the mot man has been in france for the summer. red-white-black bike gets to commute tomorrow, when I take it to Cockermouth for testing. I was getting a spark, so doubt that there is much wrong with the sensor. resistance is in spec. low volts surprised me. something to note in the book for the future. I couldn't smell petrol, so I had a look in the tank. looked like the river cocker. moving quickly. hose had come off the filter. readily sorted. it was rather late to start the bike, so battery on charge - ready for when I get home. just noticed the flag. i'll look later to find a photo and change the flag. the cumbrian flag if it will let me. you keeping well?
Don't let the MOT man fail the bike for anything - if he tries to, it is b*llox. If it went through every time in all the years I owned it, there's nothing wrong with it (unless of course you have buggered it up!). The resistance on the sensors seems high to me - not sure about the voltage. Maybe a workshop manual or even a Haynes manual will give the tech details of the sensors. Lucky you found the disconnected hose before you pulled anything more apart! Flag? What flag? At this end I have been under the knife sort of - recovering slowly. How about you?
Me, fine fettle thanks AL. Last time at the doctors, he reminded me it was some time since I was 25. Slow recovery can be frustrating. Any recovery is good. I wish you well. Flag at corner of the picture above my user name. Oddly when I replied from the laptop, flag USA. Back to UK now. Red-white-black bike MOT'd for another year. A brief ride to Egremont early last Sunday morning. A5086. it was Spring like in Maryport. A wet Autumn arrived at Frizington. By Egremont, it was cold, dark and blustery with misty rain. Bike washed, dried and polished in the evening, before taking its position next to the Myford. A chilly ride on the back road to (Kingstown) Carlisle earlier today. Red-white-black is a delight. David
Sniff, spec for the 1.6 sensor on a 748/916 is 680 ohms +/- 15% at 20 degrees C, it is inductive so has two outputs which are effectively on or off. Not sure if the 5v system operating voltage is nessary as it is not an 'Active' sensor like the TPS, and pressure sensors
