Anyone Use Laid Up / Sorn Insurance?

Discussion in 'Insurance - Sponsored by Ducati Insurance' started by Ben Mallinson, Sep 8, 2017.

  1. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of laid up / sorn insurance and if there are any recommendations or preferences of companies who offer this.

May be adding another Ducati to the Mallinson stable which may mean that the 1198 has a rest next season.

So what do you fellows do with regards to insurance when one or more of your bikes aren't going to see the road for a particular year/season?

  2. Its so cheap to add my 916 to my 1299S insurance, ie fek all, that I have that fully insured even though I dont ride it. Plus it means when I do fancy a quickie on her, I can. In fact, I'm going to use the 916 this weekend as I havent ridden her since the MOT now Ive thought about it.

  3. My bikes have been off the road for ages now and I just renew my insurance as normal. Just did it a few weeks back in fact. £80 in total to insure both an R1 & a 996.

  4. My insurance company told me if I don't MOT a bike for a year it won't be covered on the normal insurance :-/

@Exige knows about this type of thing.

  5. Motorcycle Museum insurance?

  8. Thanks for all the input so far chaps, I will look at the multi-bike option also obviously was just curious on what others did and had experience of...

Mind if I drop you a PM to discuss a couple of other bits too @Exige?

  9. You don't even have to ask silly :):upyeah:

  10. Keep all mine on the road year round. For what you save I don't think it's worth the hassle you often get some lovely days through the winter and the roads are often quieter
