I dunno why people are panicking about this situation so much. N.K. used to have the backing of China, but now I don't think they do. China has multi Trillion trade deals now in place with the US / World and there's no way on earth that they would jeopardise that over N.K. The chance of a missile actually reaching the US without being shot down is tiny. Even if this situation does escalate into a war, it will never go nuclear .. Even Trump isn't that stupid.
Trumps' speech at the U.N. which should of been shouted down as totally bipolar too the ethics of the U.N's main charter on maintaining PEACE! Is something which has signed the death-knell of the us-dollar hegemony. As it will inflate hugely in 2018 as nations move towards a petro-yuan system of commerce. BRICS is the future & Mrs May with her kings-college think tank mates had best distance us away from this bonkers death_culture praising society as it continues to try too have a world war with China.
China competes with the US and NK is a proxy for China, but KJU is starting to go solo, hopefully China will quietly reign him in. I wouldn't bet on any anti missile defence system working 100% reliably. Any war in the Korean peninsular would be devastating with the potential for millions to die even if it doesn't go nuclear, the consequences would be far reaching.
I see Trump is excelling himself yet again with his tweets. Continuing to goad KJU with the “Rocket Man “ moniker. Pretty sure he was quite condemning of Cuba in some comments recently also.Add to that the NFL fiasco. Will this idiot ever learn any kind of tact ? Pretty sure he won’t. But how much longer can the USA put up with his bullshit , it’s beyond comical or farcical now.
Which potentially makes Trump with his bellicose rhetoric a useful disruptor. The silent cold-war triangulation between China, the US and NK that has gone on for decades has brought matters to this point. It isn't going to solve the situation, merely drag it on. Something has to break that stalemate. Either Trump is a dangerous amateur who has waded in over his head or he is very smart and playing a game of brinkmanship at a level which no predecessor of his has ever dared play it before. It is actually far from obvious which it is but time will tell.
I can’t think of one tbh. And he even makes George Bush seem intelligent, which takes some doing. The alleged most powerful nation in the world being run by this knobhead and his twitter account. If it wasn’t so scary it would be hilarious !
Trump makes Futurama's Nixon look positively preferable. Plus has anyone noticed a certain likeness to Zap Brannigan? Hmm if Trump starts wearing velour we should all prepare for the worst.
Danger amateur with mar mongering staff advisors would be my guess. I’d also wager he believes he is invincible.
We know that Mr Trump has had no experience or training whatever in government, diplomacy, or politics at any level. He is a complete novice. Surely that makes him an "amateur", as the term is usually understood.
It makes him a novice, an outsider, (which is not in itself a bad thing unless you want to live under a self-promoting technocracy) but he's not an amateur any more because he's doing it for real. He's got the job. He's getting paid for it. Don't blame me though, I didn't vote him in. If he does it badly it won't be because he's an "amateur" but because he's Donald Trump.
So you hold that the difference between professionalism and amateurness lies in whether you get paid or not, rather than in your knowledge, experience, qualifications, competence or lack of them, do you? OK, that's certainly part of the definition so let's look again in that light. On those terms Mr Trump has agreed to accept only $1 per year salary as POTUS, which perhaps makes him amateur-ish. On the other hand, he has so arranged affairs that businesses owned by him make millions of dollars in extra profits from his official activities - so in that sense, I suppose that makes him a professional.
Oooh, you're a wascally wabbit. I said nothing of professionalism or amateurism, nor did you in your post. I spoke purely of definitions of the words "professional" and "amateur" in response to your inaccurate assessment of Trump's status. I made no comment on Trumps's knowledge, experience, etc. Being a "professional" refers to several slightly different things, all of which are "commonly understood". Being paid a commercial rate for work undertaken qualifies one as being professional in one sense of the word. Moreover, a professional can sometimes be less capable of performing work than an amateur, thus judgements based purely on the status of the individual can be misguided. Perhaps you could have chosen your words more carefully. Referring to Trump as "amateurish" rather than "an amateur" would have left you less open to criticism. Incidentally, your repeatedly straw-man approach to debate is generally unhelpful, if occasionally entertaining.
