I'm sorry to waste so many folks time, but a surprise trip has come up for which I had no idea was coming (birthday present from my better half), so sadly, my last bike trip of the year will have to be postponed. Had a superb time in the Picos Wonderful weather (as promised by Sam). Not a drop of rain , bit chilly first thing but up to 20 degrees by lunchtime 95% of the few bikes we saw were Spanish - roads were empty food delish and yes the cider and over 40 local cheeses - The beaches are fab as well and we had flat seas both ways
Did I mention for €13 you could get a three course lunch with cider or wine? And the hotel was stumbling distance to more bars than you could imagine ? We didn't see any bears though
Thats cheap, I normally pay €14 in this part of France, but that is 5 courses with wine and coffee thrown in.
