I'd argue that the earth strap is part of the charging system but then, I do argue like a crazy man sometimes. I'll concede that the OEM cables on the charging circuit are entirely satisfactory, for lead and Li batteries, unless evidence to the contrary surfaces. It was a supposition on my part that because the OEM starter circuit cables are inadequate, it was a given that the charging circuit cables would potentially be inadequate for moving from a lead battery to a Li one. This was me hypothesizing and not based upon knowledge.
Yes.... For new works... i.e. replacement.... There is no legitimate reason to buy a new one (in the UK),,, unless you just wanted to strip it for MCB'S.
To be fair... it's the connectors, after a few years: albeit the cables could always do with an uplift.
Thought someone might like to see this? One of my lithium batteries, i've had it over 3 years and it's probably been in more crashes than Randy de Puniet, anyway funny that it's still showing a usable voltage: Can't draw more than a few hundred milliamps though
As you can see overheating is never a problem! I've seen Lead acid batteries in the same state..... incorrect charge voltage and current limits.
