1200 Retrofit Enduro Tank Onto A Non Enduro Model?

  1. I have a 2011 Pikes Peak that I am gradually modifying to fit my needs (I have just replaced the handlebar with a narrower one and replaced the handguards/mirrors with rizoma LED indicators to make the bike narrower for filtering).

I do a 100 mile round trip to work each day and the stock fuel tank just isn't big enough - Rather than sell and replace with an Enduro I'm wondering if I could retro-fit the larger Enduro tank... I saw a thread on another site where someone had done this with a 1200GS adventure tank to a standard 1200 GS..

Problem is I cant seem to find the specifications for a MTS 1200 Enduro fuel tank online, does anyone have them or have an enduro they plan on pulling the tank on for some reason in the near future? :)

  2. I've images somewhere on one of my laptops of the tank off of my enduro. But have a look at the side profile of my bike without tank. I might try to locate them over the next week.

  3. Can I ask what width handlebars you got? And did you keep the handguards? I need to get my bike through a 90cm long passage which is 80cm wide. The bars just won't go through without another person to help me. Not good if I'm on my own, I'm reduced to using the car

  4. Who you asking mojo, my enduro or keagans pikes-peak?

  5. Sorry, I was meant to include a quote. Was asking Keagan as he said he fitted narrower handlebars. I need narrower ones so I can actually get my bike out without the help of another person :-/
