hello guys!I'm Manuel from Italy,I would go to buy a ducati 916 sp,13.000 km, frame and engine serial numbers are ok (I called in ducati),good condition. how much would it be worth according to you and how much should I pay for it? here's a picture:
Here or in Italy? What year? What history? Many factors dictate - but prices here at the moment are all over the place.
Yes def agree - paint job on seat unit is all wrong! Stand is wrong. To make any call on it we would need some better pics and more info! If you there - ask them to take the side fairings off and check for dates on them all, they should all be same and a relevant year!
here I am! years 1995,2 owners, location Italy. yes,the number board doesn't look right but he have a original and the all fairing are ok.
You checked the date codes on the fairings? What were they? What's the mileage? Dealers here are buying bikes like this from all over Europe and sticking them up for circa £15,000 here. I guess in Italy they go for £8K - £12K Euro's? But you would know better than us on that?
Old thread I know but thought I'd add my 2d (old money) to this thread having researched early 916 SP's Some may already know I have an early 94 SP and it had exactly the same seat fairing as Manuel's. Like you guys, I thought it was wrong so have sent it to be repainted in SPS livery but then found an old magazine. Looks like the same as mine I'm having repainted and Manuel's to me. Comments please....
Also mine has the Italian flag to the rear on the right side of the seat fairing, maybe in early 94 they only had one decal. Here to be corrected by those who know more.....
No not all of them Ducati were running out of parts and money at the time so only put on what was available at the time
Anyone done an enquiry about an early 94 916 to be told its a "916 Racing DM" ?? Whats a "916 Racing DM"? This is from Ducati themselves
916 racing is very trick, mag yokes, wheels and swing arm, 955cc engine, carbon breather box, ecu mounted in the nose cone. Very rare and very expensive.
Not sure this bike in its current state meets that specification but that's the ID Ducati have for it.
