1000 Abba Stand Adaptors For Multistrada 1000ds

  1. I have an old style Abbastand that I have used on my 749 and 848 been looking on the Abbastand website and apparently there are no adapters available to fit my Multistrada 10000DS

    http://abbastands.co.uk/product-detail.asp?item=fitting-kits&pid=27

don't really want to buy a complete new stand, and want to lift the bike to enable chain cleaning/lubing. I suppose I can think about a spindle that fits through the rear axle that has paddock stand bobbins so that I can use my Motrax paddock stand, anyone have any ideas how I might be able to lift the rear of the bike up so the rear wheel is off the ground?

  2. Have you written to them? It suggests contacting them on their site:

"We develop fittings year on year for the latest models, however if you do not see your model listed feel free to contact us via the "ask us" form above."

  3. Turn it upside down?

They want me to buy a new model stand!

Richard. I like your solution oriented thinking, but I'm not as strong as I used to be these days!

  6. What is the prob with the stand, can't it be adapted by using another model fitting?
Does it need to plug into the swing arm spindle on the FUS* like on other more, errr, normal bikes?

  7. Just had a look at a picture of one and see there is a big bolt thing in the end of the swing arm spindle.
Can this be removed to allow you to plug your existing abba fitting in?
I have similar bolts on my M1100 and seem to remember that they can be unscrewed easily.

  8. I haven't actually got the stand out and offered it up to see what the issues are yet Richard.
I just looked on the Abbastand website for adaptors and saw that they don't sell any.
It states that I need to buy the latest model stand!
Might be a height issue in that the bike is too high for the old stand.
    I'll investigate further tmw.

  11. If a spark plug socket fits the s/a pivot bolt/nut, it doesnt take a lot to make them fit abba. I use filed down one for my 999. C65D4D2D-2C24-47AD-8176-63B478914C7F.png

Keith is that your bike in the photo?
If it is do you have any issues with the fuel gauge low level warning light being activated intermittently or just not working as it should?
