959 1299 Exhaust To 959

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Gp80, Oct 2, 2017.

  1. I have a 1299 with DP Akrapovic slip ons.

Looks like the exhaust valve is retained.

Does anyone know. Is it still utilised or just dormant and left wide open permanently?

  2. When you turn ignition on you will see and hear the valve test cycle itself if it’s still working

I’m sure the upmap removes it though

    It fails open

  3. Ignition on and off and no movement of the valve.

Sounds like upmap has disabled then.

    Thanks for the advice.

  4. Exhaust system has arrived and in pretty good order, there a couple of marks on the cans and I was thinking of spraying them before fitting, is it just a general black heat resistant paint ?

  5. T
That's exactly what I did and has lasted well, make sure you give the whole thing a good light sand first.

  6. Anyone else planing on doing this I can confirm a set of 1199 fairings fit perfectly, just trial fitted them and all line up fine, bit close to the exhaust servo motor but that's coming off anyway so not a problem

  7. You could get some heat resistant decals for the exhaust as a suggestion.

  8. Such as?

  9. Akrapovic or Termi.

    Only a suggestion.

  10. Silly question.. I bought the HT eliminator but where does it plug in? It’s the exact same socket as the one that came with my 1299 exhaust servo but that won’t match the stock connector on the 959! Driving me crazy!

  11. I presume where the exhaust servo motor plugs in to

  12. My thoughts exactly but it’s a different plug head arrangement. Driving me bonkers! I think HT may have sent me the wrong bit of tech, could you ping me a pic of your eliminator just to confirm I’m not going mad?!

  13. I haven't ordered mine yet as doing the swap in a few weeks time, sounds like you have the wrong connector
Someone else may pop along who has one

  14. This is the one that doesn’t seem to fit where the original servo plugged in

  16. Mine just plugged into where the service was and is next to the left side fairing engine the lower rad cowling

  17. Thanks, did your eliminator look like the one in my photo? I’m convinced that they’ve sent me the wrong one!

  18. Was taking the fairings off anyway so our lucky!
