Lowering Multistrada 1200

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by PlymouthBikers, Dec 30, 2012.

  1. Hi Guys and Gals

Just wondering if any one knows a way or has done or heard of a way to lower the standard MTS?

This model has no electronic suspension.
At 5.10 I can ride it ok its just those times when you get that slight camber???umm would be nice to have a couple more inches ;-))

I know if I adjust the suspension load adjuster it makes no real diffrence to hight.

Would like to keep the real comfy seat as it is, would not want to get hight over comfort.

    any ideas, mods, parts, helpful.

look forward to your replies bikers.. Plymouth BIker Dave..

  2. Shorter rear shock, pull forks up through yokes and respring/revalve to give more static squish. The ride will probably get harsher though, as you'll be using up some of the designed suspension travel to achieve it, which would have to be offset with increase spring rate/rising rate or whatnot.

Like you I am 5'10" and wanted to feel a bit more confident when I got the Mutley. I bought the touring seat which is cut in more at the front and I can now flatfeet on the bike.

I am in Saltash so PM me if you want to come round to give it a try.
    Cheers
    Brian
