Lift the seat and you'll see the bayonet spiky thing that is half of the seat catch. Looks like one of the spacers that holds it to the seat unit....
Is it one of the spacers from under the seat?

Yup - that sounds like clutch. You may get away with a plate shuffle short term. Not too disastrous mate, new set of plates and yr off!
