I mounted mine on sheet of aluminium with small washer better plate and sheet cures issue. Ducati response is for racing use so wouldn't have plate!!!

It's located just behind the metal cover of Termi. With bike running when you blip throttle you will see it but have to agree I would remove it.

Have you tried riding it? If I lube my chain by running on centre stand it comes up with this but once riding and front wheel is turning goes off.
