It's a Torx tool, doesn't have to be Ducati specific, in fact the one supplied in my 916 toolkit was shite and rounded off the first time I used it...

Neither will fit; rear of 1098 has bigger axle although 848 rear will fit 748. Front wheel of 1098/848 use a 5 bolt disc that is only available...
