From January 2017 all new bikes registered must conform to Euro 4. Methinks Ducati are going to have to be doing a lot of free Akras to sell this...
But race teams rebuild their engines on a very regular basis and are only after maximum power, not longevity.

There is but the tests they have to meet are based on emissions. If it was about economy, we would all have to ride round on scooters.
Its not about economy though. its about emissions and they are not necessarily the same thing.
