What is 450als steel?
I am getting mixed opinions elsewhere. Some say it is, some say it is not, some say it is in places.
I note in a manual somewhere there is a claim that the frame is made of chrome moly on carby bikes. I am not sure this is true on any carby or IE....
To be fair I would rather go to Scotland from Hull than down South. Still quite a way for me and at least up where you are there is less traffic,...

746g off my nose this morning. The TRIOM lights on the 1000DS have a plastic lens cover. The older ones are glass. So I got myself one for £40...
They should have used that frame colour to start with. Brings the bike to life in my opinion. The standard bronze is dull.
