I have had the same bikes, and agree with Coman, a 2013 twin spark, 2017 1200s now a 2019 1260s, I rode a 2022 V4s, preferred the 1260.

They call it a ‘Touchdown’ when they don’t have to touch it down!.
I’ve had this problem too, you can just slightly bend the arm and it will come out, then just swivel it out the way, it’s very easy to do.
