If I was opening the dash, I'd heat it with an air gun along the seam and gently pry it apart.
That wouldn't bother me. It'll soon reduce if you ride it hard enough.

Remap won't make any difference with the CAT in place. Plenty of people have fitted an Arrow slip on with no gains. Get a full system.
That guy posted up a full list of his modifications for iron butt on the US site. A lot of additional kit on his bike.
