My Son.. “ 50 years ago I would watch him a flamed red haired winger running down the “ chicken run” ( for those not knowing the Chicken run was the old east stand where the West Ham fans were so close they could almost pat the opposition winger on the arm as they went down the wing.. West Ham fans are known partly for giving the opponents a really tough time, so they called it the chicken run as opposing wingers would avoid going down the line such was the hostility.. X
