Well.....how much are you wanting to spend? I'm not wanting to sound greedy here, I have one from a 2007 1098 Tricolore but I think it's the DP end can one, but I could flash it to whatever you want, but it will add about £50 to it's price for a licence for the writer software to change the map. Oh and a stock ECU will need to have the immobiliser turned off to work on another bike. Anth
is the immobiliser not in the clocks on the 1*98's? i was really after a standard 1098s ecu and trying to keep costs down as im self employed and have been off sick recently( very skint) with gallstones, pancreatitis, blocked bile duct and pancreatitis again plus two operations,so not been a good few months.
There seems to be a bit of confusion here regarding immobilisers and the later bike ECU's. From what I understand you want to test if the stock ECU will eliminate a hole in the mapping of the DP ECU currently on your bike. All you have to do is acquire a stock 1098 ECU and it will be plug and play. There is no need to disable immo on these bikes if all you are doing is changing them over. The bike would benefit from a TPS reset everytime you swap ECU's, but the TPS value should be fine without one and the bike will start. If you are in no desperate rush I will be in a position to help with a loan ECU after 14/1. All I ask is that you pick up the P&P. If this cures your problem then I can flash your own ECU to the best map. Can you tell if the Lambdas are still on the bike? and the EXUP?
A spare stock 848 ecu wouldn't start my 2010 bike till I disabled the immo Chris....... Chris are you using an open .lic file for the writer? Or buying one for each Ecu you flash still?
Anth I'm running an eBay purchase on my bike with no immo work done on it. First I flashed my 1198 DP map to my Writer licenced ECU with just Lambda and Exup disabled (didn't tick immo). I then cloned this ECU using MPPS to my eBay purchase. Above method used to create a test ECU for this thread http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f41/098-orange-engine-warning-light-4670/ PM me if you want to know about cloning with MPPS.
Yes the exup removal for the 1098 was on a stock map http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f41/098-orange-engine-warning-light-4670/. Have also done it for stock 848 EVO map onto two eBay purchased Hypermotard ECU's.
Ok just the post above for that thread says you used your DP map. I'll PM later Chris if that's ok......
You're right mine was a DP, but I have done it on stock maps on a 1098 and cloned stock 848 EVO to secondhand ECU's.
Nice one Chris Ill pm you when I'm sorted. I did look at mpps a while ago, but didn't see much in it for me....need to look again me thinks.
i can borrow an ecu from my old base model 1098 however i really dont mind having a spare. at the moment i dont fancy test rides on our crappy greasy salt laden roads but once the good weather arrives then i will.the exup is still there but i will have to have a check on the lamda sensor. i really appreciate you help and chris if i have to re flash i will give you a shout.
