1098 doesn't want to rev any ideas?

  1. Bike ran OK prior to parking up, parked up it got wet in the snow and rain, next day started fine no probs early morning with no issues and was let to get upto 85c temp idling, however when I tried to accelerate under load it didn't want to rev and backfired constantly, the backlight of the LCD display also flickered rode 400m and rode home. The bike revs ok not under load showing a constant 14.2v on the dash (various revs) and started OK 4 days later but dash illumination now not functioning (LCD displays OK) lights, horn, indicators, all working correctly, I could be asking the obvious about it being damp/wet but it was suggested by a very good Ducati dealer it could be the rectifier, so open to suggestions otherwise I will start with cleaning and drying all of the electrical connections at the weekend.

  2. My 999 did exactly the same. Duff front cylinder coil.....check the plug recess isnt full of water too....

  3. My 848 did similar - duff plug.

  4. Thanks for the replies Guys, will look at both at the week end and not spend the money on a rectifier just yet.
