1098r Master Clutch Repair Kit

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by SP4S, Jun 15, 2016.

  1. Fellow members,

I have been trying to locate a repair kit for my 1098r clutch master cylinder but to no avail, as Ducati dont supply such an item, just a whole new unit at £239.00.
I have heard form several sources that KTM used the same Brembo lever/master cylinder on their bikes and that they provide a repair kit (£29.00).

Can anybody advise which KTM has the same master cylinder as the 1098r so that i can cross reference and get the correct kit form KTM. Want to start with the cheapest option first. PDQ in Taplow dont provide such a kit for the later Brembo master

Alternatively, any other recommendations for repair welcome.

    Many thanks

  2. Biketorque Racing offer a repair and maintenance service by post. Brake m/c they do in house, Clutch m/c they send back to Brembo. I can't remember what the turn around time is so give them a ring. Andy

  3. Bike torque can't help. Nothing listed for the 1008r. Brembo not playing ball, not providing repair kits for the bike

  4. It's an issue between Brembo and Ducati.
IIrc, there was a court case in America some time ago and Brembo then required manufacturers to agree to some kind of disclaimer if Brembo was going to supply spares for them.

KTM signed up but Ducati didn't, so if you want Brembo spares for your Ducati, a KTM dealer is a good place to get them.
I got a replacement master cylinder boot from KTM dealers Trevor Pope a while ago. They provide an online service with parts diagrams, so you should be able to work out what you need.

  5. Been ringing around and emailing everybody to get this repair kit sourced. Spoke to Trevor Pope and other KTM dealers and they need a KTM part no and not a Ducati (obviously) or Brembo part no.

    Any ideas guys?

  6. Look at their on-line parts diagrams and match up your master cylinder to the KTM one.
That's what I did for my Brembo master cylinder boot.

Email some pics of your master cylinder to them, so they can match it up?

See if there's a number on your master cylinder to match the KTM one to?
