Just fitted a nice new YSS rear shock to my 1100. Original was in dire need of service so took the opportunity of fitting this one to see how it goes at the next track day. I know an Ohlins, Showa or even Sachs may be better but even second hand ones are much more expensive than this new one. More news after the track day.
Except there are many errors in it... 916 wheel does not “slip straight on” (New brake required as M1100 disc is larger) You can’t fit a “new chip” as the ecu needs to be reprogrammed The brakes are shit and there’s no mention of that in the article Etc
As promised post track day update - New rear YSS shock behaved really well. I've never used this manufacturer before so was a little nervous but build quality and dynamic quality is very good with plenty of adjustment available. All for less than a service of an old Ohlin, Showa etc.
I bought one of these to undo the wheel nut on my 1200S. Took a few goes, and my neighbours probably wondered what the row was, but it worked. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Looks like a copy of this which I have: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clarke-C...132499&hash=item465686ce27:g:gGgAAOSwLnBX9-J8
That looks a reasonably priced bit of kit. I managed to undo mine with a breaker bar and 5ft of scaffold pole - you said it would be tight!
