Yes it has the evap canister. You can see the sticker on the pic of left side frame. I am sure all the 1198R imported would have been 50 state bikes since there were so few.
Great price but just done my sums with import, shipping and VAT and I can't go for it I'm sure it will sell in the US quickly at that price!
6% Import, Shipping estimated at £1500 + 20% VAT on top of the lot as it's under the 6000kms threshold - about £10k extra give or take a grand.
I would imaging the Bike Specialists in Sheffield would have it up for around £45K if they had it in stock...
Digital dash 'could' have any milage number you want when it leave US & be put right at this end.....
It would put a glitch in it's history although they don't always check - I had my Bayliss from Denmark on the Dyno before importing and registering as it was 100 miles under the limit and didn't want to risk it...
Is this the same for Europe imports (the 6% and VAT)? I am starting to look for a 996R / SPS and I was looking at some options on the continent. However the risk of having VAT applied really put me off. It was not clear to me as well what rules were applied for being subject to VAT or not. Is the 6000 kms a hard rule? The only one? Is it definitely Kilometers (or is it miles)?
Do a search there are a few threads on here. Also a few have imported from Italy. Iirc the 6k kms and age are the two defining characteristics. Also, I think if you pay vat you can claim some form the country of origin (?). US is a different kettle of fish. I looked at Japan too, and it’s all the vat and import tax. You have to find a cheap bike (and imho this one is most certainly not that) to make it worthwhile
