As per the title really. Took the 1198S out for a run this morning. All fine until suddenly, the bike stopped, no warning, just the red light for "Motorcycle Diagnostics came on. Fortunately I was able to pull over safely. Tried to find neutral but couldn't (I think the dash might have been dead, can't remember), so pulled the clutch in and tried to start the engine. Fired up straight away and I rode home without incident. Good job it didn't happen in the middle of an overtake or something. Any thoughts?
It’s scrap unfortunately mate I will give you 2 k for it today Maybe a relay or cables loose? Earth cable maybe?
as above, general connector check - early signs of a regulator starting to fail comes to mind but could be many things.
That’s what I thought. Had two RR failures on my 1098s & both started with unexplained cut outs. Look for dash light failings particularly indicators working erratically.
